‘Every person has a song to sing and every person deserves the opportunity to discover and share their song’ – Canfod y Gân
I work on a number of projects as a music facilitator. In this role, I create an encouraging and comfortable space where people can express themselves musically, whatever this means to them. Through the William Mathias Music Centre, I work on projects for adults with additional needs including Canfod Y Gân and Doniau Cudd.
Other freelance project work include Ty Cerdd’s project Bwthyn Sonig, working with and enabling learning-disabled music creators. Also, Llais Dyslecsia, a creative project to highlight the voices of children with dyslexia in the Welsh language and a Call for Action.
I am committed to leading innovative and inspiring workshops to a range of participants within the community. I am a music leader for the accredited ‘Camau Cerdd – Steps in Music‘ specialised music lessons for babies and young children. Our workshops introduce the basic concept of pitch, rhythm and structure in an explorative and fun environment.
I have also curated and led family workshops for the National Trust, Gwynedd Libraries, at the National Eisteddfod, Llwybrau Llesiant and song-writing workshops for teenagers in half terms. The ‘Arts Together’ initiative is another example, on this project with artist Judith Wood we fused art & craft with music in creative workshops to disenfranchised families in Rhyl.

The social experience I’ve gained through music performance has left me incredibly passionate about music education. I pride myself on being an enthusiastic and encouraging teacher with the goal of sharing and nurturing a love of music and performance. I am a peripatetic teaching for the Gwynedd & Môn Music Service and William Mathias Music Centre in Caernarfon in addition to private teaching. I currently teach Cello, Guitar and beginner Violin.
